9 th International Soil Science Congress on “The Soul of Soil and Civilization” was helded by Soil Science Society of Turkey together with the Federation of Eurasian Soil Science Societies.  In this congress, over a thousand abstracts from 61 different countries were submitted and 650 of them were accepted by the scientific committee. Throughout the Congress, 117 of the accepted abstracts were presented in the oral presentation and 493 of them were presented as posters, which equal to 610 presentations in total in the following topic categories;

• Soil Erosion & Conservation

• Soil Fertility

• Soil Pollution & Remediation

• Soil Hydrology

• Soil Management & Reclamation

During the congress 110 oral and 297 poster studies were presented by the participants from 61 different countries. This presented papers will be published in proceedings book and some selected articles by the scientific committee will be published in 4 different journals.

This congress represented the collective endeavor of hundreds of researchers, students and others interested in soil science and natural resources around the world. We trust that it was useful as a source for the state of knowledge and practice of soil science.
